Things That Must Go Thursday!

Another list of Chelsea's Things That Must GO!!!

1. New Swim Suits in December
I was at Target yesterday (my home away from home) and I saw that they already had their new swimming suits for the season out! WHAT?!! We really haven't even gotten winter yet and that means that winter in Utah will now last till June! Who is buying  a swim suit right now and waiting till June to wear it!? This is insanity. This goes right along with stores selling Christmas Decorations in August.

2. Ring-Back Tones
I honestly do not want to be forced to listen to some dumb song that YOU like. You aren't listening to this song, because you aren't calling your own cell phone, right?!?! If you like the song, then use it as your ring tone, but I don't like the song and I don't want to listen to it when I call you!

3. Network TV Stations Hiatus During The Holidays
Between the middle of December and the first week of January I happen to have a lovely break from school. And of course this is the time that television likes to air lame specials, re-runs, made for TV movies, etc. I have not been able to enjoy any of my favorites and won't, because the all start up when I return to school! Damn you Network Television!

4. Having Zits in Your 20's
I never had a zit the entire time I was going through puberty/ adolescents, but as soon as the roaring 20's hit my skin started to HATE ME!

The Griswold's Ain't Got Nuthin' on Us!

This past weekend was the annual Birrell Family Christmas Party and I must admit it may have been the best yet! This year Mitz decided to make it an ugly sweater party, but of course the fam didn't stop at just sweaters. When the Birrell's do something, they don't just do it half-way, they do it ALL THE WAY!!
I love my family!

Our rockin' Christmas sweaters!

Diji loves her Poinsettia sweater.

Kerry or Cousin Eddie? Yes, he is wearing a Dickie!

Mitzi channeling Grandma Doris.

The ladies lookin good!

The guys looking even better!

Earmuffs!

The "winners"!

Ps. Christmas sweaters were courtesy of Jill Birrell. Thanks mom!

Gifts for Co-workers

I love giving gifts to people. I honestly just LOVE picking up stuff for birthdays and trying to find the perfect gift for a baby shower or wedding shower. But I have found that the hardest gifts to buy are for your coworkers.  I feel that it is a fine line of what to get, how much to spend, and who exactly to buy for. Last year I did a movie night kit: an old Audrey Hepburn film, popcorn, candy and soda. This year I decided to spend a little less, because I have to buy for a few more ladies here at work, than I did last year. So, I decided to do something a little more simple- I decided to do some cute notebooks. That way it was something they might use at work if they wanted. So I narrowed it down to the item, but the hard part was deciding what kind.....

I LOVE these books and the website! You can custom make your own journal, planner, notebook, etc. And they have such cute patterns. Ah, but since I have to buy for several people, and they are a bit pricey with customization, I decided against the May Book (ummm... I still might buy one for myself later).

Then I stumbled upon these pretty ones at Barnes and Noble. They are designed by Jonathan Adler. I thought they were just adorable. But I decided against them... I wanted a notebook that was a little bit more sturdy and was spiral bound.
And that's where Vera came in...
I love the look of all of Vera Bradley's patterns. They are so feminine and pretty. I don't think I would ever carry a bag of hers, but the accessories and stationary she makes are lovely! So this is what I decided to go with. The Mini Notebook.

Now, I just need to figure out a cute way to package them!

Things That Must Go Thursday

Alright so it’s not that I have been in a cranky mood as of late but I have been very in- tune with my feelings of annoyance with the world around me.  So I decided to put my annoyance to good use and share it here.
This is my list of Things that must go!
(Starting off with the one I hate the most)

1. Keep Calm and {insert stupid phrase here}
I hate these signs so much no words can even convey my loathing! I want to know who started this trend and then I will hunt them down and b*%*h slap them!

I just threw up a little.

2. 40 year old women with pig-tails and tennis skirts at the gym
First of all you are no longer 7 years old and therefore should never put your hair in pigtails. Second, you are not on the tennis court nor do you look like Anna Kournikova. There is no reason why walking on a treadmill at Gold’s gym would require you to wear this outfit.

3. Pink and teal Christmas decorations
Since when did Christmas start looking like Easter? Last time I checked Santa’s suit is red, Christmas trees are green, and snow is white…
Gag!

4.  Family stick-figure decals on the backs of Suburban’s and Mini Van’s
Cool you have 6 kids, 2 cats, 4 gold fish, 3 birds and a dog…. Oh and it looks like each of the kids plays a different sport… Hooray! I mean really, guys! C’mon!
